So here it is almost March.

I was booking an appointment today and when I turned the page in my old school appointment book there was March right in the middle of my next week. I don't know why I am so surprised at how fast this year is going by. We have made some pretty big changes for 2011. As some of you may know, I have been the sole photographer for awhile now. Terry my husband, business partner and best buddy has gone back to the world of 8 hour work days. So it was time to make some changes in our business. I have a new studio space located at 7321 New Lagrange Rd just behind the Kia Store on Shelbyville Rd. I have been shooting in this space for a couple of weeks now and it is just perfect. The next change will be a transitional change of the name of my studio from Lifetime Photography to Lynn Heick Photography. It is something we have been wanting to do for a while now. I am very excited about all these changes and can't believe how fast it is all happening. I want to thank our clients, some who we have had since the very beginning. There are no words to express our gratitude to have our images in your homes. To know our work is considered your family treasures is the greatest reward. Photography is my passion and I can't imagine not being a photographer. So if you know anyone looking for a family photographer I would love it if you passed on my name to them and don't forget about me I am still around and very excited about the opportunity to grown Lynn Heick Photography in 2011.

Well here are a few images from Dionna and Theus's Beautiful Wedding. I would call this a true Southern Bell wedding because everyone had such style and grace. Dionna was so beautiful and despite the rain we were able to get some great images outside. I can't wait to design the wedding album. Here is a recent custom wedding album design for a 10x10 wedding album for Christy and James. They chose a classic wedding album with 10x10 pages. We had the honor of photographing Audrey's First Year. I happened to be going through them tonight choosing our favorites. She surely will appreciate these images through out her lifetime. This is Audrey forever at 9 months. Just one of many favorites from that session. It wasn't long after this image she learned the joy of mobility and discovery and our sessions became a bit more interesting. I am thinking of a custom design coffee table album personalized with her name and birth date, the ultimate first year keepsake. I will show more later.

I want to share an image we created last weekend. This is little project we have been working on for a few weeks. All our grandchildren in one image. This has not been the easiest of projects. Work schedules and bouts with the flu have kept our grandchildren from appearing at our studio together at the same time for the Heick Grandchildren official group portrait. They arrived in well planed shifts by some very organized mommies. We worked on individual portraits one by one as they arrived and got settled in. I am not going to lie and tell you I was not sweating it. When it came to the group portrait we just dived right in and got to work.
All the grown ups worked together to get the kids to look at the camera at the same time. It sounded like a wild party going on. I didn't know how many frames we got but jut knew I had something. So here it is.
This has become such an important image for all of us. It will be one of the family treasures we will cherish for generations to come.

Yesterday was a great day. Izzy came in for a photo shoot. She is just growing
so fast. She was mumbling a few new words for us. This is a wonderful sound that must be what angels sound like. She is standing, which is just wonderful. We expect she will be walking soon. Izzy will be one in May. This year has just flown by, luckily we plan her sessions every few months. Our goal yesterday, was her spring portrait. I think it is beautiful. One night, a few weeks ago, Our oldest son Terry, surprised us with a visit to the studio with 3 grandkids in tow. So I took the opportunity to photograph them one by one. It was so much fun.
First is Madison it is her birthday. Then we have Tyler and finally the newest grandbaby, Little Terry.

Being busy has it benefits, I get to photograph wonderful people and boy is that fun! The draw backs is I don't make enough time to take care of things like my blog, and I am sorry about that, even though I am very busy, I am going to take a second and say hi!

I love fall, but I can't believe how fast it came! So reality has it that we only have 2 months until Christmas. If you have a little holiday project in mind I would love to help. Starting early on your card project will give us plenty of time to create something really special.

Not too long ago, our Granddaughter, Izzy, stopped by the studio for her 3 month session. She has really grown in the last 3 months. Her grandmother gave her some cool shades to wear when out running to photo shoots or shopping with mom. I think they are a great idea to protect your baby's eyes from the harsh sun and they look great on her too. Izzy looks just like her Mom and Dad. I love their little family.

It has been very busy at the studio with sessions, summer weddings, and design work. I have neglected this wonderful opportunity to let everyone know whats going on at Lifetime. So I will try very hard to make some time, no matter how busy, to keep in touch.
This is our new grandson, Little Terry. Andrea, our Daughter in law, brought him to the studio about a week after he was born. His family is very busy moving into their brand new home.
I usually wait until 3 months to photograph a new baby again. I just don't think I can wait that long. I bet, after his next portrait, I will be able to see how much he has changed just in the last few week.

Last week, our oldest son and his wife, Terry and Andrea, brought over the family for the official maternity/family session. In just a few days, Andrea was scheduled to go into the hospital to deliver their 3rd child. On Thursday the Doctor decided it was best to wait another week. Disappointed, everyone went about their business, but later that night, the Baby decided it was coming anyway. Terrell Elbert Heick the 4th arrived at 10:53 p.m. on Thursday, July 12th. I am so happy we took the opportunity to capture this moment in time for our family. last night, Terry took them a beautiful slide show set to music with the images from the session and I realized what a special moment we had captured for our family. Words can't explain the joy we feel.

We are waiting to meet Isabell who is just about to make her grand entrance into our family. This is her mother Lindsey. This Easter we decide on no Rabbits, chicks, or baby lambs for Spring. So just after Valentines Day I went to the stores for a little Easter decorating research. Soon after that all the spring magazines came out with all kinds of Easter inspiration. I decided to paint a classic background with vintage colors and simple design. Then I painted a second background. Here are a few of our favorite. We want to thank everyone that visited the studio for the spring special it was great to see you. We appreciate your business. I am in a really creative place at the moment. Elements in my work are falling into place and I have really fallen in love with some of the pieces I have been working on. Emily is a bride I photographed last summer. When I was looking for the perfect photograph to take to the next level, I went straight to Emily. I feel like I have somehow come full circle. I remember my after school art class at Longfellow Elementary. Mrs. Mackey would open her class room after school for a painting class. The smell of tempera paint would fill the air. I would sketch out my scene on the heavy gray paper. I would carefully choose my colors and a comfortable brush and begin. At the end of class we would clean up and hang our work to dry. It would take several classes before I would finish my painting. I enjoyed those care free days. Taking my time and discovering, going in any direction I felt the paint would take me. Today my computer can be a can of paint or a crayon or chalk and no more tempera. I hope you enjoy Emily as much as I have. I hope to share more with you soon.
